100ish

100 words about nothing — and everything.

  1. Dear Asus,

I’m in search of incredible and I may have found it with your Asus ZenBook 14x. It’s a well built computer that has enough oomph to do what I want with it - like write this note - and the OLED display is great for an old guy like me with one eye.

Touchpad works, fans don’t spin and the touchscreen is something I didn’t feel I would use because you kind of feel like a monkey poking at the display. but the kids these days poke at their phones all day long with the tiktock or whatever so I guess I’m the cool old guy - I dunno.

One issue I have is with battery life. Oh - and what about the RAM or lack thereof? I’ve been reading about this RAM pricing thing where prices have risen considerably due to the AI and I wish this thing came with more than 8GB of RAM but I’m dealing.

For a portable, the battery life is…disappointing. Fast processors and bright displays take a lot of juice and I’m not a power user that needs all day battery life so this is…more fine than incredible when it comes to battery life.

I hear your newer models are a lot better in the battery and RAM departments and ship with more RAM and longer lasting batteries.

Please send a tracking number when my new laptop ships.

  2. Dear Puma.

I picked up a six pack of your socks for ten bucks or so and somehow I am down to just one pair. Granted, the dog ate one or two - but this leaves a missing pair of socks regardless.

While I do like your socks and feel that all the extra features such as the padding and ventilation are nice they don’t really change my world.

Also, I’m older and I could not care less about the puma logo on the side of the sock. These are crew socks and I usually wear these with sandals because I am old and don’t give a darn. Believe me - nobody is looking at your logo.

The question is? Are these better socks than the LINKYO brand or whatever other brand of Chinese made socks and I really do think that they are.

They are cushy, breathable and look great with sandals.

That still doesn’t explain why I am down to one pair though and the dog isn’t fessing up.

Please send more socks asap - sandal season is coming.

    Best,

    James

The first time he saw one, he knew exactly what he wanted: a silver Porsche 944.

Back in the 80s, it was the pinnacle of technology, even if people constantly reminded him it was the “cheap Porsche.” He came close to having his dream car grace his driveway a few times, but life got in the way—marriage, kids, and responsibilities.

Now, with the children grown and his marriage behind him, he finally has the time and the means to commit to his first love. Today, a silver Porsche 944 sits proudly in his driveway.

  4. So,apparently white socks are not cool unless you’re an old guy like me and you don’t give a flying f about what you wear.

Black socks can be too formal and they get dirty just as fast as the white ones can so the ultimate life hack is to have gray socks.

It’s a cheat code. They go with everything because the color is neutral and they wear well too.

Just buy a bunch of them and you’ll never have to worry about a pair of mismatched socks again.

  5. Susan loved organizer baskets so much that her family started to get concerned. She had found some lady on one of those short videos that talked about organizing their home with them and she was off to buy them by the dozen.

She had started with the cloth ones that came in different colors and would go in one of those custome made wall units.

One wall unit was good but now her home was wall to wall of these things and at last count she was up to over 100 of these wall organizers.

At least her home was organized
