As one is apt to do, I let my mind wander as I tried to separate the remains of our dinner from our frying pan so it could be used for another day
And this got me thinking about dishcloths? Do you use one? I mean you have to use a dishcloth of some sort. The only reasons I think you might not is you:
- Eat takeout all the time
- Throw out the dishes every day
- Have servants
I have none of those so I have become chief cleaner when it comes to dishes and so it’s been my mission to find out how to make it easier and less time consuming and I have come across a trifecta when it comes to pan scrubbing.
-
The double sided sponge - this can be the standard or the ones with the happy faces - doesn’t matter - sponge on one side - scratchy stuff on the other.
-
Scrubbing cloths. I don’t know how to explain these but they’re like rough plastic cloths. They work 90 percent of the time for getting the stuff off.
-
Magic Erasers - not to be used on everything but sometimes you need that extra friction to get the goop off.
I’m sure there’s other methods that work better but these 3 are what I have settled on.
Or…you could just use some hand knitted discloths that I found on ValliesKids blogspot
Worsted Weight Cotton yarn and an H hook. Or whatever size you like ;o) Rnd 1) ch3, 12dc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st to top of first dc, 12dc Rnd 2) ch2, 2dc in each st around, 24dc Rnd 3) ch1, * sc in first st, skip next st, 6dc in next st, skip next st, repeat from * around. 6 petals and 6 sc Fasten off and weave in end.
and you can make your own dishcloths
As if that would ever happen.
Don’t worry Mr. Clean - I’m not going anywhere.
