100ish

100 words about nothing — and everything.

  1. I noticed a two-toned Infiniti at the light today when I was stopped while driving uber and I thought - wait - are these making a comeback? Apparently so.

I found this from Car Style Critic about two-toned cars from days gone by:

Mid-1950s America was a heyday for “two-tone” paint schemes on cars. In those days there were even three-color paint-jobs, as I wrote about here. But today I focus on two-tone usage on Chrysler Corporation’s Plymouth brand.

Here’s the full post. Beware – this author has a lot of great stuff on old car styling so be sure you have some spare time before you click the link.

  2. Before the child showed up we had all kinds of pens in our junk drawer of different colors and styles and from every car dealer and medical outfit you could imagine. Fast forward seven years and now I can’t find a pen in the house anywhere. I had to call in the replacements.

  3. I tried to use a mechanical keyboard today and I just can’t get used to it. It’s weird because I started computing with the older style keyboards that you see on eBay for hundreds of dollars now but maybe it’s after years and years of chiclet keyboards I guess I have found my keyboard: It’s a Keychron B1P-K1 where I have landed.

  4. I have been thinking about socks lately and how they have become really complicated. Now they have compression, ventilations, padding and god know what else and there seems to be a sock for every activity. We used to have just one kind of socks when I was a kid: Clean ones.

  5. I haven’t decided if I even need a portable monitor as I have lived this long without one but I find they are getting cheaper and cheaper over the years and this made me want to check a few out but there are so many.

Asus ZenScreen - Pricey at close to $200 but it’s one of the few brand name portable monitors you can buy. It reduces eye strain with anti-glare IPS dislay and allows you to prop it up with the build in kickstand in both landscape and portrait

Why I picked it - It’s one of the few portable monitors that has an actual brand name and not names like MNN, WGK and my favorite: ForHelp.

I’m not making the last name up.

Buy the ZenScreen - It costs more but you get a brand name behind it.
